(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – Despite recording 28 shots to Heidelberg's nine, the Wilmington Quakers played the Heidelberg Student Princes to a 0-0 draw Saturday afternoon at Williams Stadium.
In the first half, the Quakers consistently applied offensive pressure on the visiting Student Princes, unleashing 12 shots to Heidelberg's three. Despite the volume of opportunities, Heidelberg's goalkeeper recorded seven saves in the opening half to keep the match scoreless.
Wilmington continued to apply pressure after halftime, tallying five shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Unfortunately for the Quakers, each attempt was saved. While the Student Princes managed only two shots on target in the second half, both of which were saved by Erik Axelsson, Wilmington recorded just one more shot on goal following its initial surge.
