(WASHINGTON, Pa.) – The Wilmington College wrestling team competed at the Jim White Duals Saturday, hosted at Washington and Jefferson College. The Quakers finished the day 2-0 overall, defeating Hiram College 44-12 and Washington and Jefferson College 32-21.
The Quakers and Terriers were tied 6-6 in the first dual after a Hiram pin at 125 and Hiram forfeit at 133.
Zander Ward followed at 141 pounds with a fall for a 12-6 Quakers lead.
Asher LeBeau won by major decision, 18-9 at 149,
Braylon Vaughn won by fall at 157 pounds, and
Thane McCoy won by tech. fall at 165 pounds for a commanding 27-6 advantage.
Quintez Pratt won by tech. fall at 174 and
Ryder Pierce won by fall at 197 while forfeits were taken by Hiram at 184 and Wilmington at 285 for a 44-12 final score.
Washington and Jefferson took a 6-0 lead in dual two after a fall at 125 before
Gavyn Grim and Ward followed with falls at 133 and 141, respectively, for a 12-6 Quakers lead. It was 17-15 Wilmington after 165 pounds. The Presidents won 149 and 165 pounds, while McCoy used a tech. fall to give the Quakers five points at 157.
Wilmington put the dual away with three straight wins, as Pratt won by 4-1 decision at 174 and
Hunter Randall and Pierce both won by fall at 184 and 197 pounds. A forfeit at 285 for Wilmington made the final score 32-21.
