Quakers Celebrate Senior Night with a 1-0 Victory Over DePauw

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Quakers celebrated their Senior Night with a 1-0 victory over DePauw Saturday night following an Alex Wilson goal.

Before tonight's match, Wilmington celebrated its three seniors, forward Alex Wilson, midfielder Madison VanSuch, and forward Makiah Newport

It was a quiet first half for both teams on Saturday night. DePauw was on the attack early, taking two shots in the first minute but they were not too threatening. Emma Storck made two saves on back-to-back shots in the 11th and 12th minutes. Wilmington countered with shots by Gracie King and Makiah Newport, but the Tigers' goalkeeper handled the attempts. Both teams traded shots throughout the half but neither side really threatened. The half ended 0-0 after the Quakers took nine shots and the Tigers took seven.

Wilmington finally broke through in the 76th minute. Alex Wilson dribbled by the defense and took a shot from the top of the box and drilled it into the bottom left corner to put the Quakers ahead 1-0. DePauw was able to mount an attack in the 86th minute but it was off target. The Wilmington defense and midfield controlled the game as the Quakers held on 1-0, winning their third straight game.
