(UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio) Cassidy Lovett leads all Quakers in scoring with 8 points and
Olivia Trusty and
Gabby Russell tally 7 points each in a 77-44 loss at John Carroll on Saturday afternoon.
The snow fell heavy in Northeast Ohio just like the shots for John Carroll in the DeCarlo Varsity Center. The Blue Streaks shot 42% from the field, a full 13 points better than the Quakers' 29%.
Russell tallied a team high five rebounds, with Trusty,
Stephanie Altstaetter and
Natalie Rupp each pulling down four rebounds. Altstaetter worked the offensive boards tough with three of her four rebounds coming on that end of the court.
Lovett was patently tenacious on defense, grabbing 3 steals, tying a team high with
Bailey Eddleman.
ZahKyria Walker provided tough defense as well, blocking three Blue Streak Shots.
The Blue Streaks were led by Ava Ryncarz with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Quakers will return home on Wednesday January 8 to face the Ohio Northern Polar Bears at Fred Raizk Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
