(WILMINGTON, Ohio) -Â As the Quakers hosted senior recognition for
Caleb Tackett and
Garrett Simmons, Simmons got to broadcast tonight, and call a technical fall win for Tackett in 6:35. However, the Quakers fell 34-19 in the dual against Mount St. Joseph University at Wilmington on Thursday night.
Andre Lewis opened the match with a spirited pin in the second period, with the referee calling it after three-and-a-half minutes.
Jackson Collins and
Thane McCoy both won their matches; Collins by an 8-1 decision and McCoy by an 18-1 technical fall after four minutes.
The match between Tackett and MSJ's Dominic Marr started with a Tackett takedown in the final seconds of the first period.
Following a quiet second period, Tackett chose to have advantage, and that changed the course of the match. Tackett scored four four-point nearfalls and the advantage time bonus to win by a 16-0 margin, granting the technical fall for Tackett.
Lewis scored his pin after being on the backfoot in the first period, trailing 7-0 going into the second. Lewis did not get far into the second before he took down Dakota Phillips to pin him.Â
McCoy had an eventful match against Rylee Nealeigh, scoring a takedown and two near falls in the first period, leading 9-0.
McCoy orchestrated a takedown and a nearfall before Nealeigh escaped, and then got taken down again. After that final takedown, the referee called it for an 18-1 technical fall victory.
The match between Collins and Andrew Magness started with a first period takedown for Collins.
In the second period Magness started at a disadvantage that lasted the entire round, granting Collins a significant advantage time lead.
Collins opted for a disadvantage to start the final period and made his escape for a 7-0 lead. After Nealeigh received a penalty point for two third period stalling calls, the match turned heated and Collins walked away with the advantage time bonus and an 8-1 win.

The Quakers will be on the road for the rest of the season, first traveling to Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana for the Wabash Invitational on February 1st.
