Yarkosky Has Nine Kills and Two Blocks in Road Loss to DePauw

(GREENCASTLE, Ind.) - In a 3 set road loss to the DePauw Tigers, Kieran Yarkosky scored 9 kills and 2 blocks, 1 solo and 1 assisted, tying career records for both, while setting a career high in points with 10.5 for Wilmington.

Josie Crabtree also scored 9 kills, Andie Dolven netted 22 assists, 12 digs and 3 aces and Corissa Oeder scored 19 digs.

The first set, the Tigers jumped out to a 5-2 lead, and keeping the Quakers at arm's length on their way to a 25-17 win. Trailing 14-6, Logan McQuillin rotated to serve and got the Quakers to 14-10, compliments of an ace, two Brinlee Preston kills, and a kill by Andie Dolven. The closest the Quakers would get to the Tigers was 16-15, on an Andie Dolven serve rotation starting at 16-13, with a Baileigh Rieder kill and a coordinated block by Rieder and Yarkosky. However, DePauw would go on a run to build a 22-15 lead, and put the Quakers away not long after.

The second set saw the Quakers get to an early 3-2 and 6-3 lead, after DePauw scored the first two points. But after a couple of rotations, the Tigers built separation, and after three more rotations saw the Quakers trail 15-9, and never quite got the comeback, eventually falling 25-16.

The third set opened brightly with Dolven scoring the first six points of the match, with an ace, two Yarkosky kills, a Rieder kill and a Josie Crabtree kill. However, the Tigers chipped away at the lead, eventually seeing the set tied at 15. Following a bit of back and forth until the teams were tied at 19, DePauw built a 4 point lead, to get the set to 23-19, before Crabtree scored the final Wilmington point of the set, as the Tigers take the final set 25-20.
