Women's Soccer Draws 1-1 at Bethany

(BETHANY, W.Va) - The Wilmington College women's soccer team dominated all day on Saturday at Bethany but a stellar performance in goal by Mathelyn Ruiz resulted in a 1-1 draw. Wilmington is now 4-1-2 with two games left in it's non-conference schedule.

In the first half Wilmington pressured Bethany into conceding six corner kicks. The Quakers put four shots on target out of seven shots total. Just after halftime Alex Wilson found Emily Stall to break the 0-0 tie. Less than two minutes later Wilmington gave up a goal to Monica Bird, assist by Ally Barclay. The game would end in a 1-1 draw.

  • Outshot Bethany 25-6 and had 12 shots on goal to just two for Bethany.
  • Earned 16 corner kicks.
  • Alex Wilson had eight shots with five shots on goal.
