(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team concluded their 2024 season Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) tournament at Otterbein University, dropping their match 5-1.
Kaden Young scored the lone goal of the contest for the Quakers on a penalty kick. Wilmington finishes the season with an overall record of 11-6-3.
The Cardinals jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with tallies in the eighth and 19th minutes of the contest. Wilmington scored their goal in the 25th minute after
Randy Harris was fouled in the box, which allowed Young to take a penalty kick and convert it for a 2-1 deficit.
Aidan Barnishin and
William Jansson both had good looks after this, but both went high over the cross bar. The lead would hold at 2-1 heading into the locker room.
Otterbein scored early in the second half in the 47th minute, which took the air out of the Quakers. They allowed two more goals in the half and dropped the match 5-1.

- Kaden Young scored his 16th goal of the season and fourth off a penalty kick. He ends his season with 36 points after having four assists this year.
- Randy Harris and Jose Ruiz both took two shots in the game, with Harris putting both on goal and Ruiz having one on goal.
