(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – The Wilmington College women's swimming team dropped a pair of duals during their tri-match Saturday afternoon at Transylvania University, that also included Wittenberg University. Wilmington lost to Transylvania, 192-68 and Wittenberg, 196-76.
The Quakers were led by sophomore
Gabby Kuetemeyer, who won the Quakers only event of the day in the 200 Yard IM. She beat Wittenberg's Annie Gammon by just under two seconds with a time of 2:30.39. Kuetemeyer also finished fourth in her other individual event, the 100 Yard Breaststroke, finishing in 1:17.70.
Wilmington's other best finish of the day belonged to
Sophia Mignery, who took second in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:50.35 to Wittenberg's Jade Paumi, who won at 2:48.52.
Junior
Alayna Fierman was third for Wilmington in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:16.97. Fierman also took fourth in the 200 Yard IM at 2:37.38.
Junior
Makenna Garn and
Sydney Overmyer both had a fourth-place finish during the meet. In her lone individual event, Garn finished the 50 Yard Freestyle in 27.27 to take fourth. Overmyer touched the wall in 2:31.75 to claim fourth in the 200 Yard Backstroke. She just missed out on third, as Jasmine Webb of Transylvania finished in 2:31.67.
