(ADA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's swimming team fell to 0-2 Friday night in dual action at Ohio Northern University, 167-37.
The Quakers were led by junior
Sydney Overmyer and sophomore
Gabby Kuetemeyer. Overmyer had the best finish of the night for Wilmington, swimming a solid 50 Yard Backstroke and just missing out on a win, taking second place with a time of 32.27. Ohio Northern's Hannah Eversole claimed the win at 31.66.
Kuetemeyer was third for Wilmington in the 100 Yard IM, touching the wall in 1:10.37. Her teammate
Alayna Fierman was just behind her in fourth at 1:11.57. Fierman had another fourth-place finish in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 31.77.
Other third place finishes for Wilmington came from
Alaina Reynek and
Makenna Garn. Reynek finished the 500 Yard Freestyle in 6:24.31, while Garn came up just a bit short at 26.95 in the 50 Yard Freestyle. Abby Leatherman (26.33) and Annie Richters (26.67) of Ohio Northern took the top two spots.

The Quakers get away from Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action next Saturday, when they head to Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky for a tri-dual with the Pioneers and the Wittenberg University Tigers beginning at 1:00 P.M.
