UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH – The Wilmington College volleyball team opened Ohio Athletic Conference action Saturday, falling in straight sets to John Carroll, 25-9, 25-11, 25-9, at the DeCarlo Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Senior Kara Short (Conover, OH/Fairlawn) dished out a team-high 11 assists with nearly half going to freshman Amber Rox (Lawrenceburg, IN/Lawrenceburg), who had five kills on 22 attempts.
• Rox finished with a team-high nine digs, while sophomore Sydney Smith (Centerville, OH/Dayton Christian) added seven digs.
• Wilmington finished with 13 kills and 16 errors on 69 attempts.

Wilmington (1-15 overall, 0-1 OAC) hosts Capital 7 p.m. Tuesday in OAC action.
