FRANKLIN, IN – For the second straight game, a late goal was the undoing of the Wilmington College women's soccer team.

Franklin scored in the 88th minute to send the Fightin' Quakers to the 1-0 non-conference loss at Faught Stadium Saturday.

The outcome could have turned out dramatically different as junior Erika Good (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) hit the crossbar two minutes prior. In the time immediately following the shot of the crossbar, Wilmington still seemed to have the pressure on the Grizzles. However, a quick counter attack turned in the game-winning goal.

"It was a tough loss," said Wilmington head coach Steve Spirk. "I thought we played well and we created some chances. We passed the ball well, possessed well and defended. We had the ball deep in their end and two seconds the ball in the back of our goal. It's disappointing."

Senior Taylor Franklin (Delaware, OH/Rutherford B. Hayes) recorded six saves on seven shots, falling to 0-2 on the season.

Good was responsible for half of Wilmington's shots and recorded two of its three shots on goal in the defeat.

Wilmington (0-2) takes the field 7 p.m. Wednesday in its home opener against Wittenberg.
