TIFFIN – For the second time this season, senior quarterback Brandon Arehart established a new career passing mark. However, it wasn't enough as Wilmington fell to No. 13 Heidelberg Saturday in non-conference action, 66-12, at Mayer Field.

Arehart was 27-of-54 passing, two touchdowns and three interceptions. His previous high was 306 yards against Olivet in the opening game of the season.

His favorite target on the day was sophomore Jeremy Duncan, who also established a career-best receiving day. He hauled in 11 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns.

Wilmington started well, driving 67 yards on six plays on the opening drive – but a deflection led to an interception on the nine yardline.

The Student Princes drove 91 yards on just four plays for the opening score of the game. The league's leading rushing team, Heidelberg opened the game by showing it was equally proficient through the air. Four of the first five touchdowns were passing strikes. Heidelberg finished with 377 yards passing.

After HU scored the first five scores, Wilmington finally got on with eight minutes remaining the first half. The Fightin' Quakers culminated a six-play, 83-yard drive with a 46-yard touchdown pass from Arehart to Duncan.

Heidelberg added three more scores in the second half.

Wilmington wrapped up the scoring with 52 yards scoring strike from Arehart to Duncan.

Freshman Zach Cooper added 77 yards on four receptions in his first extended action of the season. Sophomore Zach Cumby led the Wilmington rushing attack with 40 yards on eight carries.

Senior Aaron Day recorded seven tackles, three for loss, while sophomore Tarrell Starckey added seven tackles with one for loss.

Wilmington (0-3 overall, 0-2 OAC) returns to Williams Stadium 2 p.m. Saturday for a Homecoming meeting with Muskingum.
