Loss to JCU ends season

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH – Needing a win or a tie to keep its season alive, the Wilmington College women's soccer team got neither – falling to John Carroll Saturday, 1-0, in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Wilmington falls to 5-4 in the OAC, tied for sixth place with Baldwin Wallace. The Yellow Jackets earn the sixth and final seed in the OAC tournament via its 3-1 win over the Fightin' Quakers on October 19.

The Blue Streaks score five minutes into the game, and made the one goal stand up. John Carroll kept the pressure on the Fightin' Quakers, outshooting WC 14-5. Junior Brooke Lamb (Waynesville, OH/Clinton-Massie) managed Wilmington's only shot on goal.

Sophomore Rachelle Bowen (Xenia, OH/Xenia) recorded Wilmington's three other shots.

Freshman Grace Hignite (Clayton, OH/Nortmont) recorded four saves in the loss.

The Fightin' Quakers finishes the season 11-7-1 overall.
