Omar Najjar enters his first season as a men's soccer assistant coach in 2026.
Omar comes from Hiram College where he served two years as a Graduate Assistant Coach, assisting head coach Joe Chmura in Hiram's transition from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) into the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). Omar helped Hiram go from 3-12-2 in 2024 to a record of 7-8-3 in 2025, the most wins in this decade for men's soccer. He took a big role with individual player development which helped Hiram land four players on the All-Conference Team along with assisting in other duties such as recruiting, film analysis, and game planning.
Omar is no stranger to the OAC, where he had a very successful three-year career at the University of Mount Union. Omar started his career off strong during his first two seasons with 15 starts, two goals, and nine assists from a defensive midfielder position while serving as a captain in year two, but he truly starred in his fifth year season where he lead Mount Union to a 16-2-2 record and a Second Team All-Conference selection, starting all 20 matches while scoring five goals and assisting six more.
Omar has stayed very involved in northeast Ohio soccer upon graduation. Along with his coaching duties at Hiram, he has coached with the Cleveland Force Soccer Club, and played for many different teams, most notably the Cleveland Crunch in the Major League Indoor Soccer League and Ambassadors Football Club Ohio in the National Premier Soccer League. Omar has been extremely successful with these two sides where he has twice been named to the MLIS All League Team, while winning the league in 2024. With Ambassadors, he has been named Defensive and Overall Player of the Year twice, captaining a very talented side.
Najjar, originally from Revere, Ohio, graduated from Mount Union with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and received his Masters of Science in Sports Management from Hiram College.
