Jalen Goodwin began his tenure as the Director of the Quaker Recreation Center at Wilmington College in July of 2025.
Goodwin comes to Wilmington with a men's basketball coaching background. He played collegiately at The College of Wooster from 2011-2015 before beginning his coaching career at the University of Northwestern Ohio in the summer of 2015, spending a season as the Racers Assistant men's basketball Coach and Junior Varsity Head Coach.
He then took a job as the Graduate Assistant men's basketball coach at Otterbein University in 2016 and worked with the Cardinals for two seasons. He followed this with six seasons at both Oberlin College (four seasons) and Mount St. Joseph University (two seasons) as an Assistant men's basketball Coach, where he created scouting reports, organized travel plans, performed game management and administrative duties, among other tasks.
He stepped away from collegiate coaching last year to work as the Director of Youth Basketball at the Ronnie Grandison Sports Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. While here, he not only coached youth basketball, which included developmental leagues and summer camps, but he helped keep the facility running. He had daily operational duties in the facility, which included gym setup and facility monitoring for volleyball, basketball, and pickleball leagues and tournaments.Â
Goodwin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Wooster before getting a Master of Science in Allied Health in Exercise Science and Health Science from Otterbein University.Â
Goodwin grew up in Liberty Township, Ohio and went to Lakota East High School.Â
