Jake Hyatt, a 2019 Wilmington College graduate, began his tenure as the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations in July of 2024. The 2025-26 academic year will be his second year as a staff member at Wilmington.Â
The position was created within the athletics department to replace the former equipment manager position. Hyatt serves as a liaison between Wilmington's physical plant in serving the facility needs of the institution's 18 varsity athletic programs. Additionally, he serves on the athletics leadership team to ensure smooth game day management operations and other athletic department events throughout the year.Â
Hyatt's previous role was as a Park Manager for the City of Blue Ash, Ohio. His tasks include hiring, training, and scheduling of staff to mow, mulch, weed, perform daily park maintenance, and maintain a high standard for the cleanliness of the parks.
Hyatt was responsible for the coordination of large events held at the parks. This included the set up and tear down for the Memorial Day Parade, Red, White & Blue Ash, Miracle Mile, Walk in the Woods, and more.
Hyatt attended Xavier University after graduating from Wilmington and earned a Master's of Sports Administration degree in May of 2022. While he was there, he worked as a grounds crew member for the Musketeers. He helped maintain the fields and courts through mowing and landscaping, coordinated facility events, and kept high standards for Xavier's Division I playing surfaces.
During his time as a student at Wilmington, Hyatt worked as a Student Assistant Equipment Manager for all four years. In this role, Hyatt's tasks included assisting with the ordering, sizing, and fitting of equipment for players, setting up and tearing down for game days, increasing department efficiency and more. Hyatt was also a student-athlete at Wilmington, and was a member of the Quakers baseball program for four years.
