WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College football team heads to Ada to face Ohio Northern University (ONU) at 7 p.m. on Friday.
The Teams: Wilmington and ONU. The Fightin' Quakers enter the game with a 2-1 record having defeated both Columbus schools (Capital University and Otterbein University) and falling to Heidelberg University 38-16 last Friday. The Polar Bears are 2-0 on the season having most recently beaten Capital 47-6 last weekend.
The Coaches: Bryan Moore, a 1999 graduate of Hiram College, begins his fourth season leading Wilmington's football program. Moore began instilling his vision on the program having brought in three large freshman classes. He led the Quakers to the program's best record in over a decade in 2019. Previously, Moore spent time at both Bluffton University and Heidelberg. Dean Paul is in his 17th season as ONU's head coach. The Polar Bears have been ranked in the county in 11 of his 17 seasons.
The Offenses: Kyle Barrett is in his third year quarterbacking the Wilmington offense in the spring of 2021. He averages 323.7 yards per game through the air. Four Quakers – Itika Wynn Jr., Ace Taylor, Lathan Jones and Yvan Tientcheu – have hauled in double-digits in passes. Tientcheu is also Wilmington's rushes at 43.7 yards per game. Brody Hahn, a transfer from Muskingum University, averages over 250 yards per game through the air and over 80 yards per game on the ground. Brock Martin has a team-best 183 yards rushing in two games.
The Defenses: Tre'Quez Parks and Xzerious Stinnett both have over 20 tackles for Wilmington while Jarod Lee leads the team with two interceptions. Parks, Tavion Bryant, Jalaun Covington and Brandon Weaver all have at least three tackles for loss for the Quakers. Peyton Wilson and Josh Bever lead ONU in tackles with a combined 33 while Bever leads the team with five tackles for loss, three of which are sacks. Dennarrio Stewart and Jevon Taylor have intercepts for the Polar Bears.

Coaching Connection: Dean Paul, while the head coach at then Thomas More College, hired Bryan Moore as an assistant coach.
Series History: Wilmington is 1-19 against ONU since joining the OAC prior to the 2000 football season.
