(ALLIANCE, Ohio) – The Wilmington College wrestling team competed at the University of Mount Union in dual action tonight, falling to the Purple Raiders, 38-15.
The Quakers won three of the six matches contested on the night. Sophomores
Asher LeBeau,
Thane McCoy, and
Hunter Randall all earned victories for Wilmington.
LeBeau won his 15th match of the season tonight, winning by fall over Jamie Lemon Norris in 3:43 at 149 pounds. He trailed 5-3 after the first period, but a reversal and four point near fall led to the win for LeBeau, his team leading seventh fall win of the season.
McCoy beat Giovanni Duniec by 9-2 decision at 157 pounds. He led 3-0 after the first period and never looked back for his 27th win of the season. He continues the best individual season for a Quaker since the program returned in 2018-19.
Randall won by fall over Alec Brodbeck at 174 pounds in 3:30. He led 6-1 after the first period and used an escape and takedown in the second, leading to his victory. This is his seventh win of the season and third by fall.
