(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College wrestling team competed in a tri-dual tonight in Hermann Court against both Ohio Northern University and Muskingum University.
They fell to the Polar Bears in their first dual, 49-4 before losing a tight dual to the Fighting Muskies 33-22.
Thane McCoy won the lone match for the Quakers against Ohio Northern by way of 11-2 major decision over Londen Murphy. This was Murphy's first loss of the season as he previously sat at 22-0. McCoy led 3-1 heading into the final period. He picked up a pair of takedowns and an escape over the final two minutes before earning the riding time point.
Cody Lisle and
Gavyn Grim got Wilmington out to a 12-0 lead in their dual against Muskingum with falls in 3:36 and 6:04, respectively. This was Lisle's sixth (third fall) and Grim's eighth (third fall) win of the season.
Asher LeBeau beat Aiden Johnson by 19-7 major decision for his 11th win of the season. This was LeBeau's fourth time this season scoring 15 or more points in a match without the bout ending by fall.
Thane McCoy won by forfeit to push the team score to 22-6 in favor of Wilmington. He is now 24-1 overall this season. Unfortunately, this was their final win of the dual. The Muskies won matches by tech. fall and major decision along with a pair of injury defaults and a forfeit to win the dual 33-22.
Quakers junior
Georgia Horosky wrestled a pair of matches tonight for Wilmington. These were the first matches of her collegiate career.

Next Saturday, January 31st, Wilmington travels to Crawfordsville, Indiana to wrestle in the Wabash College Invitational. This is their first tournament action since mid-November.
