(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Wilmington College Wrestling team lost their dual today against the Defiance College Yellow Jackets 34-20.
The Quakers started the dual with a forfeit in the 125-pound class for Cody Lisle to go ahead 6-0. Andre Lewis wrestling in the 133-pound class but fell to Matthew Wheeler via fall.
The Yellow Jackets forfeited the 141-pound class, putting Zander Ward and Wilmington ahead 12-6.
Junior Creager wrestled next in the 157-pound class but fell by major decision 11-1 to Drew Matthews. Creager escaped in the third period and tried to get points but was unable to come back against Matthews.
Wilmington's Asher LeBeau and Thane McCoy went on a run dominating the next two duals. LeBeau wrestled in the 157-pound class against Peyton Brown, taking down Brown in a major decision 16-4 across three periods. McCoy wrestled against Graiden Troth and had two escapes, winning with a 12-4 major decision.
Quintez Pratt lost his match in the 174-pound class against Daniel Thatcher by a fall.
Hunter Randall and Griffin Shepherd lost the final two matches in the 184 and 197 weight classes. The Yellow Jackets won the heavyweight match on a forfeit.
