(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College wrestling team opened up their dual season tonight at home against the Otterbein University Cardinals. They dropped the dual, 43-8 and are now 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).

The Quakers started off with a bang at 125 pounds, as sophomore Gavyn Grim dominated Otterbein's Marcy Olivo en route to a 15-0 tech. fall win and a 5-0 Quakers lead.

133 pounds saw a Quakers forfeit before freshman Zander Ward battled the Cardinals Gabe Thacker at 141 pounds. In a back and forth affair, Ward outdueled Thacker and came away with a 6-4 decision victory to give the Quakers the lead back at 8-6.

The Quakers fell by decision at 149 pounds, tech. fall at 157 pounds, fall at 165 pounds, and tech. fall at 174 pounds before forfeiting the final three weight classes.
