(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College wrestling team opened up their dual season tonight at home against the Otterbein University Cardinals. They dropped the dual, 43-8 and are now 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).
The Quakers started off with a bang at 125 pounds, as sophomore
Gavyn Grim dominated Otterbein's Marcy Olivo en route to a 15-0 tech. fall win and a 5-0 Quakers lead.
133 pounds saw a Quakers forfeit before freshman
Zander Ward battled the Cardinals Gabe Thacker at 141 pounds. In a back and forth affair, Ward outdueled Thacker and came away with a 6-4 decision victory to give the Quakers the lead back at 8-6.
The Quakers fell by decision at 149 pounds, tech. fall at 157 pounds, fall at 165 pounds, and tech. fall at 174 pounds before forfeiting the final three weight classes.

The Quakers will wrestle this weekend in a tournament that has yet to be determined.
