(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Wilmington College wrestling team lost their second dual of the season tonight on the road at NCAA Division II opponent, Thomas More University. The Quakers fall to 0-2 in dual action this season.

The Quakers two wins came at 157 pounds and 184 pounds, respectively. Thane McCoy dominated the Saints Linkyn Schardt at 157, winning by tech. fall at 16-0 in 5:51. McCoy led 3-0 at the end of the first period and 10-0 at the end of the second, before turning it up in the final period and using an escape, takedown, and two near-fall points to grab the win for Wilmington. This is McCoy's fourth win of the season and second by way of tech. fall.

Hunter Randall fought his way past Liam Schram at 184. He led 3-0 after the first period, before Schram picked up seven in the second and took a 7-4 lead into the final period of action. Randall used an escape and a takedown to take an 8-7 lead before Schram got an escape point to tie it at 8-8 late in the match. Randall got a late takedown that sealed the deal for an 11-8 decision and his third win of the season.

At 197, Ryder Pierce took Wade Mettling down to the wire. Mettling led 3-0 after the first period, but Pierce grabbed an escape point in the second and trailed 6-1 heading into the final period. He made it 6-4 with a takedown, but Mettling picked up a crucial reversal for an 8-4 decision win.

The Quakers have some time off before they head to Muskingum University on Tuesday, December 3rd for a 7:00 P.M. dual with the Fighting Muskies in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action.

Wilmington picked up their lone dual win of the season last year, 27-26 over Muskingum in an exciting conclusion that came down to the fourth criteria point to decide the winner.
