WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington College men's swimming freshman Austin Reed is this week's Student Athlete Advisory Commitee (SAAC) Player of the Week.
Also the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men' Swimmer of the Week, Reed was a winner of three individual events - the 100-meter backstroke (1:05.57), the 50-meter freestyle (26.32 seconds) and the 400-meter freestyle (4:40.19) - to help the Fightin' Quakers to a dual meet win over Manchester University on Saturday. He also teamed up with Cameron Bolen, Dane Klosterman and Jacob Worley to swim a winning time of 1:45.25 in the 200-meter freestyle relay.
"Congratulations to Austin Reed for winning his first OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Award," Head Coach Trip Breen said. "He has been focused in practice, training hard, and is starting the see the results of that work. I am looking forward to seeing his continued success as we progress through the season."
Wilmington closes out the calendar year with a trip to Ohio Wesleyan University for the Corbiere-Merion Invitational this weekend.
