Wrestling Heads to Trine for Open Saturday


WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College wrestling team heads to Indiana for the Trine University Open on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Trine along with several other NCAA Division III institutions - Baldwin Wallace University, Alma College, Defiance College, Manchester University, Mount St. Jospeh University, North Central College, Olivet College and Wheaton College (Illinois).

The Coach: Justin Kihn enters his first season as Wilmington's head wrestling coach. A 2016 graduate of Heidelberg, Kihn finished fourth nationally in the 141-pound weight class and earned All-American honors as a senior.

The Players: The Quakers will have five individuals - Gabe Obregon (133 pounds), Issa Khalil (197 pounds) and Seth Jermer (285 pounds) competiting in various weight classes in the open. Jermer and Wilson recorded wins at the Adrian College Open last weekend.
