Men's Lacrosse Looks to Establish Winning Streak at Otterbein on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Otterbein University on Wednesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Fightin' Quakers are 4-7 overall and 1-4 in OAC play after a thrilling 10-9 victory over Heidelberg University on Friday evening. The Cardinals are an even 6-6 overall and 3-1 in the OAC after a 13-7 victory at the University of Mount Union on Saturday, April 7.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his first season as head coach of the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Arneson comes to Wilmington from a seven-year stint as a coach from Thiel College including six years as the head coach. While at Thiel, Coach Arneson took the team from a 2-12 record in his first year to a 10-5 record in 2015. In 2014, Arneson coached the Player of the Year in the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) while also winning coach of the year. Colin Hartnett is in his ninth season as head coach at Otterbein and has led the Cardinals to a 77-60 record during that stretch.

The Players: Jhordan Lang is Wilmington's go-to offensive threat has he leads the Quakers in goals (31), assists (10) and points (41). Connor Judge (21 goals) and Andrew Miller (15 goals) have also scored in double figures. Tanner Diment has won 164-of-257 face-offs for Wilmington while Jake Ladendorf made 28 saves in the victory over Heidelberg last week. Connor Dziewit leads Otterbein offensively with 39 goals and 16 assists for 55 total points. Joe Sanfillipo, who has scored over 20 goals, has dished out a team-high 28 assists.

Record-Breaking Goal: Jhordan Lang became the program's all-time leading goal scorer with his second goal against the Student Princes giving him 122 career goals scored. The Sunbury, Ohio, native passed former teammate Reid Delaney's 121 career goals.

Series History: Wilmington is 0-5 all-time against Otterbein since the program began prior to the 2013 season. The Cardinals won 17-5 the last time the two teams played in Westerville. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
