Wilmington College is once again hosting the Kirk Mee National Football League (NFL) Celebrity Golf Tournament for the 24th time in the last 25 years (with the only gap being because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year's outing will be held on Friday, May 14, at Snow Hill Country Club.
Featuring greats from the National Football League, the Wilmington College/Kirk Mee NFL Celebrity Golf Tournament is engaged in its 24th year of bringing together Friends of the College and football greats for a day of camaraderie, fun and festivities—all for the benefit of Wilmington College’s athletic programs. Throughout the tournament’s history, it has become apparent that both the NFL celebrities and those who have supported the event have gained a greater appreciation for NCAA Division III athletics at a small college and its concept of the scholar-athlete.
Over the years, scores of football celebrities have participated in the event. Word has spread through the unique football fraternity that Wilmington College hots an outstanding event and is deserving of their support. The following is a list of Pro Football Hall of Fame members who have participated in the Wilmington College/Kirk Mee NFL Celebrity Golf Tournament:

The football players, coaches and officials participating in this event were secured by Kirk Mee III, a 1961 Wilmington College graduate with honors whose career in collegaite and professional football has spanned nearly four decades. While at Wilmington, Mee lettered in football, baseball and track & field. He went on to coach at Defiance College and the University of Wisconsin before serving as a scout and assistant coach with the Washington Redskins franchise for 25 years.
Mee retired in 1995 after being a part of three Super Bowl championship teams and currently works as a career and motivational speaker.
